VLC Media Player is a versatile player capable of playing almost any existing file formats: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, XviD, H.264, MP3, OGG and other, conventional DVDs and VCD discs, as well as music. One of its features is the ability to play almost any type of streaming video, including traffic flow from satellite receivers. This happens with the help of a unique player encoding that does not require any codecs to play any video.



The

program can act as a server to stream over the network and use IPv4 or IPv6 protocols, provided there

is sufficient bandwidth. No additional codecs are required, as all components are already contained in it (based on other open developments). VLC Media Player is designed to work in Windows NT and above, as well as a host of other alternative operating systems. It has a Russian interface.
